What a special occasion we had in YKW this month! One of our 7th grade students put on tefillin for the first time. Hanachas Tefillin is usually celebrated with the boy’s parents and siblings in attendance. Sometimes, even the grandparents travel in to be part of the simcha. However, this simcha was extra special in that we were graced by the boy’s great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.Yoel Behrend. We had four generations celebrate together! Our students were privilegedto hear Mr. YoelBehrend give a first -hand account about what it was like growing up and going to yeshiva in the pre and post Holocaust years. We look forward to celebrating many simchos together in the future.
